Design work is created on the day of your session and discussed in person. Depending on the size and complexity of the concept, this can take between 1-3 hours. While slight adjustments can be made, a complete change of design will require more time and may result in a reschedule and a new deposit.

 Cover-up Tattoos

Collapsible content

What is the process for cover-up tattoos?

Cover-ups require specific approaches to properly hide the old tattoo. Each project has its own estimate and time range. Covering darker and larger tattoos will need concepts with enough contrast, detail, and texture. Laser removal treatment may be suggested for tattoos that are too dark. Some designs may need more layering than others, which can require a few short sessions.

Are there any design restrictions for cover-ups?

It is not recommended to use concepts with large, light open areas for cover-ups, as they require multiple layering sessions to achieve proper coverage.

Strategic Placement

Collapsible content

How do you ensure the tattoos flow well on the body?

I place tattoos strategically to ensure they flow and look well with striking detail and legibility from a distance. My style often involves creating large images that utilize the full space of each area for an aesthetically pleasing flow and cohesive detail.

Design Session

Collapsible content

What happens during the first session?

The first session is typically a long day involving layout design, sizing, placement, and beginning the tattoo. I research the concept beforehand and discuss ideas in person with the client until we narrow down the best concept. This design work process usually takes 1-3 hours.

Feel free to ask any questions to ensure you are comfortable. Our goal is to work together to create artwork we can both be confident and proud of.
